Project Summary
We completed a TP-Link Omada network expansion for a business in Buda, TX, upgrading their existing wireless infrastructure while preserving hardware they already owned. The project included centralized network management, expanded indoor and outdoor Wi-Fi coverage, structured cabling, and security camera installation.
This approach delivered a cost-effective, scalable, and fully managed business network.
Why TP-Link Omada Was Selected
The client already had two standalone TP-Link access points in place. Instead of replacing working equipment, we selected TP-Link Omada to:
- Convert standalone APs into a centrally managed network
- Add cloud-based visibility and control
- Expand coverage using Omada-compatible access points
- Support new PoE-powered security cameras
This allowed the business to maximize existing investments while upgrading to a professional-grade system.
Omada Controller Installation & Network Unification
We installed and configured a TP-Link Omada Controller, which enabled:
- Centralized management of all access points
- Unified configuration and monitoring
- Simplified troubleshooting and future expansion
- Remote network visibility
All access points were adopted into a single Omada environment for consistent performance and management.
Structured Cabling Installation
To support the network expansion, we installed:
- 10 new Ethernet cable runs
- Cabling for 5 additional access points
- Cabling for 5 IP security cameras
- All cables tested, labeled, and professionally terminated
This ensured reliable PoE delivery and long-term network stability.
Wireless Expansion with Outdoor-Rated Access Points
We added five TP-Link Omada access points, including outdoor-rated models, to improve coverage across the property.
Benefits included:
- Expanded indoor and outdoor Wi-Fi coverage
- Improved signal strength and roaming
- Hardware designed for weather-resistant environments
Access point placement was optimized for coverage, performance, and future scalability.
Security Camera Installation
As part of the project, we installed five Reolink TrackMix Poe security cameras, providing:
- Clean PoE-powered connections
- Reliable network integration
- Coverage for key operational areas
- Wide-Angle & Telephoto Lenses
- Dual View, Dual Tracking
- 4K 8MP Ultra HD
The camera infrastructure was designed to support future expansion without network redesign.
Results & Business Impact
After completion, the client gained:
- A fully managed TP-Link Omada network
- Expanded Wi-Fi coverage indoors and outdoors
- Cleaner cabling and improved reliability
- Integrated camera infrastructure
- A scalable network built on existing hardware
This project highlights how TP-Link Omada is ideal for businesses seeking professional networking without unnecessary replacement costs.
